With the worst of the winter weather now behind us, we’re looking forward to a Spring season packed full of exciting adventure activities at Parc Bryn Bach.

Kicking things off on the first weekend of May is our Bronze National Navigation Award Course on 5th and 6th May. This practical course if great for anyone interested in hill walking and will use countryside paths, tracks and linear features to teach basic compass and map skills. This course also provides a perfect starting point for Duke of Edinburgh Award students, scouts, guides and cadets who would like to develop their skills.

This year Visit Wales is celebrating our outstanding Welsh coastlines and inviting people of all ages to discover epic new experiences around our shores and inland water ways. With this in mind we have a great selection of water based activities that not only offers adrenaline packed adventure, but can also develop your skills and lead to an accredited qualification.

Join our experienced PBB Adventure Team on Saturday 12th or Sunday 13th May for a day of thrilling Gorge Walking within the spectacular surroundings of the Sychryd and Mellte rivers in Glyn Neath. This fun filled activity will have you climbing, caving, jumping waterfalls, enjoying water slides and much more, all under the guidance of our experienced and dedicated instructors.

Looking to develop your Stand Up Paddle Boarding skills with the hopes of becoming a SUP instructor? On 19th and 20th May we have a WSA Adventure Guide SUP Instructor Training Course, which is the next progression for people who have already completed the WSA Foundation Course and the WSA SUP Safety and Rescue course. The WSA Adventure Guide is a leadership award that will equip you to coach, lead or guide in open water and hazardous environments.

If you have completed your British Canoeing 1 Star Award and would like to further develop your skills in the water, we will be offering a British Canoeing 2 Star Award Course on 26th and 27th May. This two day course will enable you to use fundamental skills on flat water to control movement of both canoes and kayaks, and teach an understanding of how the paddle, boat, and water interact. Please note that in order to eligible for this course candidates must be able to swim 25 metres wearing a buoyancy aid and must also have experience of British Canoeing 1 Star Skills in both kayak and open canoe.

For more information on any of these activities call us on 01495 355920 or email adventure@aneurinleisure.org.uk.

Information on all our courses, activities and events can also be found on our website at www.parcbrynbach.co.uk
