HOV Presentation

On Monday 14th May Anthony Hughes, Managing Director of Aneurin Leisure and Meirion Morgan, Chair of our Board of Trustees, visited the Hospice of the Valleys to deliver a cheque for £1,133.86 following recent fundraising activities undertaken by the Trust and its visitors.

The cheque was presented to Grant Usmar, CEO of the Hospice of the Valleys and Amanda Chard, Events Fundraising Manager at the Hospice of the Valleys Day Centre facility in Ebbw Vale.

The fundraising activities took place at our recent event ‘An Evening with Rugby’s Finest’ at Bedwellty House & Park in Tredegar, which featured Welsh rugby stars Shane Williams and Ryan Jones and was hosted by former Ospreys Coach and TV and radio expert Sean Holley.

Throughout the evening guests were invited to participate in a raffle and silent auction for a variety of prizes, which were kindly donated by Penderyn Distillery, Sean Holley, The Events Room, Kirsty Carr Photography, Hospice of the Valleys and Aneurin Leisure. All the proceeds from the silent auction and raffle were then donated to the Hospice of the Valleys.

Anthony Hughes, Managing Director of Aneurin Leisure said; “It was a pleasure to present a cheque for £1,133.86 to the Hospice of the Valleys on behalf of Aneurin Leisure, following our fundraising activities at Bedwellty House & Park. We at Aneurin Leisure greatly value the positive partnership we have with the Hospice of the Valleys and are eager to continue to raise money to help with the invaluable work they do in the local community.

I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone involved in making this event such a success, including Penderyn Distillery, Kirsty Carr Photography, Sean Holley and The Events Room for their kind donation of prizes which made our fundraising possible. I would also like to offer a special thank you to all the local people who attended and supported our event at Bedwellty House, without whom none of this would have been possible.”

Grant Usmar, CEO Hospice of the Valleys added; “It is only through local support that Hospice of the Valleys is able to help support over 600 families each year who are living with a life limiting illness. We are very grateful for the donation given by Aneurin Leisure.

The event, 'An Evening with Rugby's Finest' at Bedwellty House was a real win-win as not only did the people attending have a great evening, but they also raised an amazing amount to support our work. We look forward to continuing our work with Aneurin Leisure throughout the year.”
