Recently, The Community Kit Room (CKR) received an incredible donation of a wide range of sportswear from a Cardiff based financial consultancy company, Quantum Advisory.

On 7th July 2024, Suzy Lloyd, a financial controller for Quantum Advisory, reached out to the team at Aneurin Leisure Trust to enquire about supporting the CKR initiative whilst running an Olympic-themed campaign with her colleagues over the duration of the 2024 Olympics in Paris.  Alongside the campaign, Suzy’s passion to support local charities and projects inspired her to complete an online search where she found information about the CKR in a Sport Wales article.

Suzy believed that the CKR was a fantastic initiative that was very active in supporting local communities, removing financial barriers to sport/physical activity participation.

Suzy distributed CKR flyers and organised multiple donation bins in the Cardiff office of Quantum Advisory, further promoting the CKR initiative and enhancing the opportunities for all employees to donate. Both the campaign and appeal were a huge success.  Suzy said:

“I've always been involved with sport and physical activity, I believe it helps with health and wellbeing and forges lifelong friendships. To be able to support local communities and to help communities get involved in sport through the donation of kit feels like you are giving back. You never know we may have helped kick off the journey of an Olympic champion from Blaenau Gwent! It was great to meet Adam and Hannah from CKR, their enthusiasm for the initiative is infectious.”

It was great to invite and meet Suzy at the CKR based at Abertillery Sports Centre, where the incredible amount of fantastic quality sportswear was greatly received and appreciated.  On behalf of everyone within the Aneurin Leisure Trust Sports Development Team, we would like to say a huge thank you to Suzy for reaching out and organising the donations, and to her colleagues at Quantum Advisory on such a positive, community-impacting appeal.

The donations will have a significant impact on those who are looking to begin or maintain their health, sport and fitness journey within the communities of Blaenau Gwent.
