Summer Fun with Aneurin Leisure

This summer we have lots of great activities for children of all ages at our venues across Blaenau Gwent!

 

Let the Louby Lou Storytelling team ignite your children’s imaginations with their fairy tale inspired story trails for children aged 3+ at Bedwellty House & Park this summer.  Every Tuesday they have a different story trail around the park that will have your little one’s exploring, following clues and meeting some well-known fairy-tale characters along the way!  Tickets are £6.50 per child and can be booked online at www.ticketsource.co.uk/loubyloustories

 

Nerf Wars are also set to make a return to Bedwellty Park on Thursday 12th August at 11am with lots of nerf blaster fun for children aged 5+ on the green outside the Orchid House Tea Room, tickets are £12.50.  Bedwellty House will also be hosting Princess Afternoon Teas on Saturday 21st August, providing a magical afternoon tea experience for parents and their children, featuring entertainment from a selection of your favourite movie princesses.  To book tickets for either of these activities please call 01495 353397.  For more information visit our website at www.bedwelltyhouseandpark.co.uk

 

Our popular Playscheme sessions will return every week at all three of our Sports Centres for children aged 8 – 12 years and feature activities such as dodgeball, rugby, football, invasion games, netball and swimming.  The sessions take place on Mondays at Tredegar, Wednesdays at Ebbw Vale and Fridays at Abertillery from 10am – 3pm.  Playschemes are £5 per child and pre-booking is required as spaces are limited.  Please note children are required to bring their own lunch.  Call your local Sports Centre to book: Abertillery 01495 357779 – Ebbw Vale 01495 357777 – Tredegar 01495 353395.

 

For some unstructured sports fun we also have new Turn Up & Play sessions at our sports centres for young people aged 8 – 16 years which provide FREE access to our 3G pitches between 10am – 2pm on Mondays to Fridays throughout the summer holidays. Participants are asked to register at reception before going to the 3G pitch. This activity is provided in partnership with BG Youth Service and Blaenau Gwent Family Information Service.

 

Each of our Sports Centres will also host weekly Little Legends sessions, which are a multi-sports based program for boys and girls aged 2 - 6 years.  The activities are designed to improve children’s fundamental skills (such as running, jumping, catching, throwing and kicking etc) and must be booked online at www.golittlelegends.co.uk/

 

For those looking for a family day out – Parc Bryn Bach has lots of great facilities to offer this summer.  In addition to amazing views while you walk or cycle around the lake, there’s also a free children’s adventure play area, a café offering indoor and outdoor seating and a whole host of golf activities for all ages, ranging from Foot Golf and Mini Golf for families and a nine-hole course and driving range for those who want to play a round or perfect their swing.  Car parking is free throughout the park. Children of all ages are invited to join the Wild World Heroes for a summer of reading fun with their local library that will inspire them to stand up for the planet.  Each year The Summer Reading Challenge encourages children to read 6 books of their choice through the summer holidays with fun incentives to discover along the way.  You can sign up at your local library, or online at www.summerreadingchallenge.org.uk and you can read anything you want - fact, fiction, poetry, graphic novels, joke books – the choice is yours!  E-books and audiobooks count too, so you can read wherever and however you like!
