Following the partial easing of the Welsh Government lockdown guidelines we have made some changes to the status of some of our venues, which were closed at the start of lockdown:

Parks

Our parks at Bedwellty Park and Parc Bryn Bach in Tredegar are now open once again for local visitors; the gates at both parks will be open daily from 8.30am – 8.30pm.

Our cafe's at Parc Bryn Bach and Bedwellty House have re-opened to provide visitors with a variety of take away refreshments:

·         The Lake View Cafe at Parc Bryn Bach is open daily from 11am - 4pm

·         The Orchid House Tea Room at Bedwellty House is open Thursdays to Sundays from 11am - 4pm

Our 9 hole golf course and golf driving range are now open daily at Parc Bryn Bach - please note all sessions must be booked and paid for online at least 24 hours before arriving at the park, bookings can be made using the following links:

·         Book your round of golf

·         Book your driving range session

For the moment all other facilities at Parc Bryn Bach and Bedwellty House remain closed – including the children’s play areas and toilets.

Libraries

We are working closely with Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council to finalise the details of the reopening of libraries in the county. Our priority is to make sure that we have the requisite procedures in place to ensure the safety of our customers and staff, and we are working hard to make sure that all of our libraries are as safe as possible before we reopen.

In the meantime, we are continuing to welcome new library members via our website and encourage all our members to the free online Borrowbox service so that they have access to e-books and e-audiobooks whilst our physical sites are closed.

Sports Centres

All our centres remain closed until we receive confirmation from the Welsh Government that we can reopen. During this closure period all direct debit payments for life membership and our swim school have been frozen. All cash paying swim school customers’ lessons will be transferred to the next block when we re-open.

For ideas on how to exercise at home follow our Facebook pages at https://www.facebook.com/bglifecard/ and https://www.facebook.com/Bgreferral/

Other Venues

Our Learning Action Centres and The Met remain closed at this time, but we will provide further updates on these as soon as we can.
