With effect from Monday 25th February 2019, a revised admissions policy for our Aneurin Leisure Swimming Pools will be implemented.
These changes are based on national recommendations and guidelines from CIMPSA (Chartered Institute for the Management of Sports and Physical Activity), which are being adopted throughout the UK and are already in place in many of our neighbouring local authorities across Wales.
Revised Admission Policy: -
- Children under the age of 8 years will not be permitted entry to any of the pools unsupervised; they must be accompanied by a responsible person over the age of 16.
- Children aged 3 and under must be accompanied by a responsible person over the age of 16 on a 1 to 1 basis (1 adult to 1 child).
- Children aged 4 to 7 years must be accompanied by a responsible person over the age of 16 on a maximum 1 to 2 basis (1 adult to 2 children).
The ratios relate to casual public swimming sessions. They do not apply to school swimming lessons, centre-run swimming lessons or club sessions.
