It is Aneurin Leisure Trust's duty of care to its customers, staff and the wider community to ensure it is following the government's safeguarding strategy.
We wish to reassure our customers that we are following government guidelines and continuing business as usual as far is operationally feasible to ensure that you can continue with your exercise routine.
We continue to ensure that all public areas are cleaned frequently and have increased the frequency of cleaning of high-contact surfaces such as door handles and hand rails. We also undertake regular deep cleans of the gym, weights room, spin room, changing rooms and swimming pool.
To help us to help you we urge all our customers to follow the government's guidance and assess the risk to themselves and others based on the information provided on the government's website when assessing your attendance to events and activities at our venues.
Information on this can be found at https://gov.wales/coronavirus-covid-19-advice
There are things you can do to help protect yourself further and keep active:
· If you feel unwell or have been instructed to self-isolate please do not come to the centre.
· Please ensure that you wash your hands regularly, before and after any visit to one of our sites, for 20 seconds with hot water and soap or use hand sanitiser to reduce the risk of infection.
· Help prevent yourself from contracting Covid 19 and maintain good hygiene at all times; ensure you keep your hands away from your mouth, eyes and nose.
· Please ensure that you use the cleaning equipment provided when you use the gym and ensure that you clean all surfaces with the paper towels provided - not your towel!
· There are some pieces of equipment for classes - such as mats - which we provide however do think about bringing your own to classes given that absorbent surfaces are more difficult to keep clean.
If you are swimming at one of our sports centres, it is generally recognised that Covid 19 would not be active at the levels of chlorine used in swimming pools. We already ask our customers to ensure that they shower before and after using the pool (with hot water and soap), and we will be asking our lifeguards and front-line staff to remind you of this and enforce it if necessary.
We will continue to update our website and social media with the ongoing developments and guidance provided by the government and wish to take this opportunity to wish our customers continued good health.
