covid-19

(Updated at 13:30 on 31-03-20)

Our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

As part of our enduring commitment to the health and safety of our customers, employees and the communities we serve, we have temporarily closed all sites that we manage until further notice:

·         Bedwellty House & Park (including the Orchid House Tea Room)

·         Learning Action Centres

·         Libraries

·         Parc Bryn Bach (including the Visitor Centre, Café, Golf Course and Campsite)

·         Sports Centres

·         The Met

Sports Centre Customers

During this closure period all direct debit payments for life membership and our swim school have been frozen.  All cash paying swim school customers’ lessons will be transferred to the next block when we re-open.  For ideas on how to exercise at home follow our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/bglifecard/

Libraries Services

While our Libraries are closed there will be no overdue charges issued and extended loan periods will cover all books.  Library members are also able to access free e-book, e-magazine, e-comics and e-audiobooks which are available online 24/7 via the BorrowBox, RB Digital and Zinio apps.

Parks

In conjunction with Blaenau Gwent Council’s decision to close all council owned parks, open spaces and outdoor play facilities, both Bedwellty Park and Parc Bryn Bach are now closed.

This is in line with the Welsh Government’s announcement to close all national parks, caravan parks, campsites, tourist hotspots and popular beauty spots to visitors with the aim to reduce public gatherings and unnecessary travel.

Please note that Bedwellty House & Park is only open for people to access the Registrar Service during their office opening hours.  For more information on these services click here.
