Following the recent lockdown, an easing of the regulations will allow parks in Tredegar to start to reopen from Wednesday, 3rd June.

Aneurin Leisure Trust which manages Bedwellty House and Park and Parc Bryn Bach in Tredegar on behalf of Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council will start with a phased reopening of facilities to support local residents.

From 3rd June, car parks at Parc Bryn Bach will reopen to visitors and the local angling club will resume its activities; the gates at Bedwellty House and Park will reopen to allow local people to enjoy walking around the gardens.

Joanne Collins, Executive Member for Education for Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council said, “In line with the Welsh government’s easing of restrictions, we’re working closely with Aneurin Leisure to ensure that residents have access to amenities in their local area whereby they can exercise more than once a day.  We will continue to monitor the situation and increase full access to the sites in accordance with the government’s instructions.”

Phill Sykes, Operations Director of Aneurin Leisure Trust added, “We’re delighted that we can begin to reopen the parks which will enable people to start to return to a more normal way of life.  We are taking precautions to keep our sites as safe as possible and we urge all our visitors to maintain social distancing at all times. Our team is working hard to bring the parks back to their best and this means that the golf course will take a little longer to reopen but we hope that members can start to enjoy a round from mid-June.  We’re also working to reopen a take-away service at the café and will confirm this as soon as possible.”

The visitor centre at Parc Bryn Bach will remain closed at this time therefore fishing access is for members of the angling club only and the driving range will remain closed.  In accordance with the Welsh Government’s regulations, all play areas will also remain closed to visitors at this time and the parks are only accessible to local residents.
