sports-centre-update---31-July-2020

Following the Welsh Government's latest update with regard to the reopening of leisure facilities, we're delighted to confirm that Aneurin Leisure Trust, which manages Ebbw Vale Sport Centre, Tredegar Sport Centre and Abertillery Sport Centre on behalf of Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council, is working to make all facilities as safe as possible for customers and staff.

The centres will be reopening on a phased basis with more details available on our website and social media sites in the coming days.

Councillor Joanne Collins, the Council’s Executive Member for Education, says:

“The health and well-being of local communities is important to us and we know that people are keen to get back into their fitness and sport activities so this is very welcome news. We’ll be working closely with Aneurin Leisure Trust to support them with their plans for a phased safe re-opening of sports centres across Blaenau Gwent.”

Phill Sykes, Operations Director for Aneurin Leisure Trust said:

"We're excited that the Welsh Government has made this announcement and we can't wait to see our members back at the centres soon. Sport and leisure activities are fundamental to the wellbeing of the community and our priority is to ensure that we can provide these services to help improve community life whilst ensuring that they are as safe as possible for members."

Each of our centres will be staffed by team members for phone enquiries during the following times from Monday 3rd August:

Ebbw Vale Sport Centre: Monday - Friday 9.00am - 3.30pm

Abertillery Sport Centre: Monday - Friday 9.00am - 3.30pm

Tredegar Sport Centre: Monday - Friday 9.30am - 12noon
