We all know that it’s never too early to start sharing books, stories and rhymes with your children, so libraries across Wales are working together with BookTrust, the UK’s largest reading charity, to help them provide free book packs to support families across Wales to help them read together.
From Monday 12th October our libraries across Blaenau Gwent will have free Bookstart packs for local families in two age categories that aim to encourage children into a lifelong love of reading:
· Bookstart Baby Pack
This pack contains an English and Welsh language book, carefully chosen to appeal to very young children, and a special booklet with ideas for sharing books, stories and rhymes together.
· Bookstart Early Years Pack
This pack contains an English and a Welsh language picture book, and a booklet full of ideas for sharing books, stories and rhymes together. The pack also contains a green Bookstart Early Years bag which is designed for your toddler to hold – perfect for taking to the library!
To claim your free Bookstart pack all you need to do is call your local library and arrange a day and time to collect your pack:
