Autumn Half Term Fun with Aneurin Leisure
This half term we have a fun range of events and activities for people of all ages available across our venues throughout Blaenau Gwent to help keep you entertained this autumn.
Libraries
Looking for some great books to keep you or your family entertained over the half term? We have a fantastic range of titles available for children and adults to borrow in a whole range of formats – including books, e-Books, e-Audiobooks, books on CD, graphic novels, e-Magazines and now also e-Newspapers.
Each of our libraries will have a FREE book themed treasure trail around the library for children to enjoy while visiting – ask our staff for more info on your next visit.
Abertillery Library will also be hosting some FREE activities including a Halloween Craft Session for children aged 4-10 years on 28th October and a Spooky Physical Literacy and Story Telling session on 31st October and 3rd November. For more information or to book a place call 01495 355646.
Bedwellty House & Park
This half term we have lots of family fun planned at Bedwellty House and Park – ranging from a Family Halloween Party on Monday 30th October to a wonderfully imaginative Hansel & Gretel story trail on Tuesday 31st October and a Spooktacular Potions and Dry Ice Workshop on Thursday 2nd November.
Head 4 Arts will be returning for some Arty Parky fun on Friday 3rd November, this FREE family-friendly art session encourages people to get creative and enjoy the great outdoors as they forage for twigs, leaves, conkers and seeds to create a large, outdoor artwork! No booking necessary - just come along and join us on the day.
Our orchid House Tea Room has a selection of seasonal treats on offer, including pumpkin spice coffee and hazelnut hot chocolates. For those looking for an extra special treat we’ll also have a bootiful Halloween themed afternoon tea available on 31st October and 1st November, featuring a spooktacular range of sweet and savoury treats all served in our specially decorated Miners Room. Sports Centres
Our popular Playschemes will be returning to all three of our sports centres offering a range of sports themed activities and a swim session for children aged 8 – 12. Sessions are £5.65 per child, and pre-booking is essential as spaces are limited:

Each of our sports centres will also host some Halloween themed fun this half term:
Tredegar Sports Centre – Inflatable Fun Day for under 8s and ages 8-12 on Saturday 28th October and Mini Playscheme for ages 8-12 on Friday 27th October.
Ebbw Vale Sports Centre – Dracula’s Disco Party on Monday 30th October 10am – 1pm
Abertillery Sports Centre – Halloween Pool Party on Monday 30th October 5pm – 6.30pm

Parc Bryn Bach
Join us on Monday 30th October for some spooktacular fun at the park – we’ll have a Halloween Craft Session from 5.30pm – 7.30pm for ages 3-11 which includes 5 Halloween crafts and a children’s meal, plus Glow in the Dark Crazy Golf and the Creepy Cave from 5pm – 7pm.
For adventure seekers of all ages, we also have a range of fun filled activities taking place in the park and on the lake:
Climb & Cave – 30th October to 3rd November - for ages 4+
Intro to SUP – 29th October - for ages 16+
Adventure Activity Day – 1st November – for ages 8-14.
Tiki SUP – 3rd November - for ages 8+
Throughout half term the children’s play area will be open daily from 8.30am – 5.30pm and we also have a special FREE treasure trail around the park for children to explore - simply collect your clues from reception. Our play area and car parks are all FREE to use, so is our fun new sculpture trail featuring 8 wooden carvings around the lake, with QR codes that visitors can scan to find out a little more about them. Crazy Golf and Go Kart hire are available daily throughout the year, guaranteed to add a little fun to your visit for children and adults alike.
The Lake View Café will be open daily for lunches, refreshments and a selection of seasonal favourites including pumpkin spice or cinnamon coffee and triple sec hot chocolate.
