Autumn Half-Term Fun with Aneurin Leisure Trust

This October half term we have lots of fantastic activities and Halloween themed events for children of all ages across our Aneurin Leisure Trust venues!

Our libraries have a whole host of FREE activities for children throughout the half term, including spooky themed Wiggly Words storytelling sessions that will have you hopping and skipping along with the story (suitable for ages 3-9 years) and opportunities to Meet the Owls of the local owl sanctuary.

Both activities are FREE for library members to attend, but booking is essential and can be done by calling your local library.  Not a library member? Join for FREE at your local library or online here.  And of course, there’s always lots of books and audiobooks to borrow to keep everyone in the family entertained throughout the school holidays and beyond!

Whether you’re looking for a fang-tastic Halloween party to enjoy, or a mix of multi-sports and swimming, our sports centres have it all this half term! Each centre will be hosting their very own Halloween party featuring games, music and goodie bags.  Playschemes will be returning to all centres offering a mix of multi-sports activities and an optional free swim session afterwards, for children aged 8-12 years (£6 per child). 

This half term we are also launching two exciting new activity options in partnership with Parc Bryn Bach at our sports centres for children aged 8-11 years; Archery Tag a fun combination of archery and laser tag which will be played in the sports hall (£10 per child), and Kayaking, which will teach children how to steer and manoeuvre sit-on-top kayaks in the swimming pool (£10 per child).  For more info on any of these activities or to view our half term swimming timetables visit the BG life website.

Bedwellty House and Park has a spooktacular week of activities planned for children of all ages.  Get ready for Halloween with a fun pumpkin painting session on Monday 28th October (£10 per child).  Join Louby Lou for a spooky storytelling adventure in the park with Pogo’s Pumpkin Dash on Tuesday 29th October (£6.75 per child), can you help Stick the friendly witch as she looks for her lost hat, wand, pumpkin and Pogo the cat? 

On Wednesday 30th October enjoy a delicious two course meal, soft play and a special superhero visit (£12.50 per child). After some trick or treating, why not join our Family Halloween Disco for some top tunes and party games, we’ll also have a chip shop counter serving chips, fresh rolls, curry sauce, gravy, cheese, nuggets and pizza slices (£9.50 per person). Parc Bryn Bach has lots of exciting activities for people to enjoy this half term.  For families looking for some FREE activities to enjoy, we have our Halloween Trail from Saturday 26th October to Friday 1st November, simply pick up an information sheet from reception and the follow the clues.  There’s also our wildlife sculpture trail and children’s play area which are both free to enjoy. 

For the adventure seekers there’s a range of adventure activities on offer for children aged 8-14 years, including an off-site activity day at a nearby indoor climbing centre on Tuesday 29th October, and an activity day at Parc Bryn Bach on Wednesday 30th October which will feature water sports on the lake as well as land based activities like climbing and bushcraft. 

On Wednesday 30th October join us for some spooky fun with our Halloween Crafts & Bushcraft session for ages 5-11 years and our Spooky Cave for children aged 4+.  On Thursday 31st October we dare you to explore our Trick or Treat Orienteering course for ages 6-12 years, and enjoy some Halloween Archery Tag where we will be taking aim at some themed targets, for ages 8+.  For more info on any of these activities or to book online visit the Parc Bryn Bach website.
