February Half Term Fun

Beat the winter blues with some fun filled activities for children of all ages at our Aneurin Leisure venues across Blaenau Gwent this February half term!

Libraries

Each of our libraries across Blaenau Gwent have a variety of FREE activities to enjoy this half term.  Come and join us for some wizarding fun as we meet a selection of owls from Festival Park Owl Sanctuary, go on a Valentine’s card hunt and enjoy some colouring activities – Meet the Owls sessions are available on 15th and 16th February.  We also have Wiggly Words active storytelling sessions in partnership with our sports development team at all our libraries.  Spaces are limited, so booking is essential for all sessions, call your local library.

 

Sports Centres

Our popular Playschemes will be returning to Ebbw vale Sports Centre on Wednesday 14th February and Abertillery Sports Centre on Friday 16th February, offering a range of multi sports activities and an optional swim session for children aged 8 – 12.  Tredegar Sports Centre will be hosting a Football Camp on Monday 12th February for children aged 8 – 12, the camp takes place on their outdoor 3G pitch and is followed by an optional swim session in the pool. Booking for all activities is essential as spaces are limited.

 

Parc Bryn Bach

There’s lots of family fun to be had at Parc Bryn Bach!  In addition to the FREE walking and sculpture trails and children’s play area, there’s also mini golf and go kart hire to keep you entertained during your visit.  Throughout the week we also have an exciting programme of adventure activities featuring bushcraft, activity days, canoe taster sessions, archery tag, mountain bike taster sessions and caving.  Booking is essential as spaces are limited.

Bedwellty House and Park

The fabulous Louby Lou Storytelling team will be returning to the park with their latest outdoor storytelling adventure, Dragon Quest, for children aged 3+.  Experimental Science will also be returning with an exciting Superhero Science workshop for children aged 4+.
