GCSE Success for Adult Learners

Adult Learners in Blaenau Gwent have once again achieved excellent results in maths and English GCSE, after attending courses with Aneurin Leisure Adult Community Learning at Ebbw Vale and Abertillery Learning Action Centres.

100% of English Language learners achieved and A-D grade, with 92% getting A or B grades

100% of maths learners who took the intermediate or higher tier course achieved an A*- D grade, with 79% getting an A*-C grade.

There were outstanding results from several learners who took both maths and English.  Paige Griffiths was awarded an A* in maths and an A in English, whilst Siobhan Dearden, Daniel Powell and Hayley Phillips all got an A in English and a B in maths.

This has been a fantastic end to what has been a very difficult year for learners and staff, with courses being  taught remotely from December to April due to Covid restrictions.  As a result of this a blended learning model has been developed in English GCSE for 21/22, which is a really exciting development.

Course information for 21/22 can be found at https://www.aneurinleisure.org.uk/learning and on the Aneurin Leisure Facebook page at (10) Aneurin Leisure | Facebook
