Half Term Fun with Aneurin Leisure

This Autumn half term we have a wonderful selection of fun activities taking place throughout our venues across Blaenau Gwent.

Libraries

If you’re looking for a spooky read to share with your family or a spine-tingling thriller to curl up with this Halloween, be sure to stop by your local library and browse our range of spooktacular books this October.  There’s also a fantastic range of e-Books and e-Audiobooks for adults and children available to download for free from the BorrowBox app with your library membership.

We have a selection of free Halloween themed Arts and Crafts sessions taking place on Monday 31st October at Brynmawr Library (11am – 12pm) and Tredegar Library (2.30pm – 3.30pm), as well as a Pumpkin Carving workshop at Blaina Library.  Later in the week we also have a free Fireworks themed Arts and Crafts session on Tuesday 1st November in Cwm Library. Some of our libraries also have a free children’s treasure hunt to try out, so be sure to ask our staff for details when you visit.

Sports Centres

Our popular Playschemes are returning to each of our sports centres for some Halloween themed half term fun – offering a range of sports activities and a swimming session. Playschemes will be taking place on Monday at Tredegar, Wednesday at Ebbw Vale and Friday at Abertillery. They are suitable for ages 8-12 and cost £5.15 per child, pre-booking is essential as spaces are limited.

On Saturday 29th October Tredegar Sports Centre are also hosting a Family Halloween Party which will feature a variety of spooky games, face painting, a haunted castle and a goody bag for each child. Call the centre for more information or to make a booking.
