Sports Libraries Launch Across Blaenau Gwent

We are excited to announce the launch of our brand new Sports Libraries from Monday 25th October across Blaenau Gwent!

Sports Libraries are now available in our libraries at Abertillery, Brynmawr, Ebbw Vale and Tredegar and offer local residents and families the opportunity to borrow a range of FREE sports equipment which can be taken home and used within local community settings.

The initiative has been developed by our Libraries and Sport Development teams and aims to help provide more opportunities for people within our local communities to gain access to sports equipment and to enjoy physical activity – whether that’s exercising on their own at home or playing sports with their family and friends.

Equipment available to borrow includes:

  • Kettlebells

  • Resistance Bands

  • Foam Flyers

  • Badminton Sets

  • Cricket Sets

  • Range of Balls - football, rugby and netball

All items are FREE to borrow for a 3 week period, subject to availability.

To borrow these items, you must be a library member - if you aren't a current member you can join for FREE at your local library or online at https://www.aneurinleisure.org.uk/join-the-library

In addition to borrowing books from your local library – your membership also enables you to access FREE e-Books and e-Audiobooks via the BorrowBox app, which has thousands of titles available to borrow and download 24/7 for adults and children.  You can also access free e-Magazines via the Overdrive by Libby app.
