Whitsun Half Term Fun
We’ve got lots of fun activities planned throughout the Whitsun half term at our Aneurin Leisure venues all over Blaenau Gwent.
Libraries
Jump into a book and make those words wiggle off the page with our active storytelling sessions from our Sport Development team in all our libraries:
Tuesday 28th May – Tredegar, Brynmawr, Ebbw Vale, Abertillery and Cwm Libraries
Thursday 30th May – Blaina Library
Wiggly Words sessions are suitable for children aged 3 – 9 years, and are FREE to join, but booking is essential - call your local library to book your place.
Of course, all our libraries also have a fantastic range of books, graphic novels and audiobooks to choose from to keep up entertained throughout the week.
Sports Centres
Our sports centres each have Playschemes offering a range of multi-sport activities and an optional free swim session:
Ebbw Vale Sports Centre - Wednesday 29th May
Tredegar Sports Centre - Tuesday 28th May
Abertillery Sports Centre - Friday 31st May
Playscheme is for children aged 8 - 12 years and booking is essential, call your local sports centre to book.

Parc Bryn Bach
There’s lots of family fun to be had at Parc Bryn Bach throughout the half term holidays. In addition to the FREE walking trails featuring an array of wonderful wooden wildlife sculptures and children’s play area, there’s also mini golf and Go Kart hire to keep you entertained on your visit. Visitors are also able to hire mountain bikes and paddlesport crafts such as sit-on-top kayaks, canoes and SUP boards.
For adventure seekers we also have a range of fun programme of adventure activities including Archery Tag, Tiki SUP, Intro to SUP, Bushcraft, Mountain Bike Taster Sessions, Sit-on-Top Kayak Taster Sessions and Activity Days.

Bedwellty House and Park
Grab your imaginations and get ready for some storytelling fun this Whitsun with Louby Lou’s storytelling team and their next adventure – Fairies of the Forest on Tuesday 28th May.
On Wednesday 29th May the ExperiMENTAL Science team will be unlocking the secrets behind the Science of Sweets in a fun filled science workshop for children aged 4 – 12 years.
Join the Barbies from the Fit for Your Princess team for a positively pink party on Saturday 1st June. Learn a routine to your favourite Barbie dance song, play games, sing along and have your very own Barbie makeover.
