For the duration of the Firebreak lockdown from 6pm on Friday 23rd October to Monday 9th November all our libraries will be closed and services such as Call & Collect and Home Delivery will be suspended.

Library members are still able to access online services such as Borrowbox and RB Digital UK to download free eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines and eComics.

Call & Collect Service

As part of a phased approach to restarting Library Services in Blaenau Gwent a new Call & Collect Service is now available from the follwoing libraries:

Abertillery Library (01495 355646)
Monday to Friday 10am - 4pm

Brynmawr Library (01495 357743)
Tuesday and Thursday 10am - 4pm

Cwm Library (01495 370454)
Thursday & Friday 10am - 4pm

Ebbw Vale Library (01495 355055)
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 10am - 4pm | Saturday 10am - 12.30pm

Tredegar Library (01495 357869)
Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10am - 4pm

How does Call and Collect work?

  1. Call your local library.
  2. Tell them what books or audiobooks you would like to borrow.
  3. Arrange a day and time to come to the library to collect your order.
  4. At the appointed time, your order will be left in a bag just inside the library foyer for you to collect.

Please note that our libraries are not yet open to the public - and all appointment times are separated throughout the day, so you will not be collecting your order at the same time as anyone else.

If you are unable to travel to the library to collect your order, we can arrange a contactless home delivery for you.

There are no longer any overdue charges and extended loan periods will cover all books.

Don't forget - you can borrow FREE e-books, e-audiobooks, e-magazines and e-comics via the BorrowBox and RB Digital apps with your library membership.

    Computer Sessions

1 hour computer sessions will be available by appointment at Abertillery, Brynmawr, Ebbw Vale, Cwm & Tredegar Libraries for customers, with priority being given to those who need to carry out job searches, apply for unemployment benefits, check their emails or access basic printing services.

To make an appointment please call your local library:

    Abertillery 01495 355645 | Brynmawr 01495 357743 | Ebbw Vale 01495 355055 | Cwm 01495 370454 | Tredegar 01495 357869

    - Due to availability sessions are limited to one hour.

    - All sessions must be pre-booked by ringing the library.

    - Please no not arrive any earlier than 5 minutes before your appointment as we will be operating a 'meet and greet' service.

    - Please use the hand sanitiser on entering and leaving the building, all computer workstations will be cleaned between appointments.

    - Customers will be required to sanitise their workstation after use.

    - Please observe social distancing whilst in the library.

    - Please bring the correct change if you need printing.

    - Computer support will be limited at the current time.

There will be no photocopying services available at the moment and no open book browsing
