All our libraries are now offering Browsing by Appointment and Computer Sessions by Appointment at our libraries in addition to Call & Collect and Home Delivery services. Please contact your local library for more information.

Library members can also access free e-books, e-audiobooks and e-magazines via the BorrowBox and Libby by Overdrive apps.

Call & Collect Service

How does it work?

  1. Call your local library.
  2. Tell them what books or audiobooks you would like to borrow.
  3. Arrange a day and time to come to the library to collect your order.
  4. At the appointed time, your order will be left in a bag just inside the library foyer for you to collect.
Please note that our libraries are not open to the public - and all appointment times are separated throughout the day, so you will not be collecting your order at the same time as anyone else.

If you are unable to travel to the library to collect your order, we can arrange a contactless home delivery for you.

There are no longer any overdue charges and extended loan periods will cover all books.

Don't forget - you can borrow FREE e-books, e-audiobooks, e-magazines and e-comics via the BorrowBox and RB Digital apps with your library membership.

Please note that Blaina Library is temporarily closed, please contact Abertillery or Brynmawr Libraries for more information.  We are planning on restarting services as soon as possible.

Post Office Services at Cwm Library

Post Office Services are available every Tuesday from 10am - 1pm for local residents.

Please note that there is no library provision on these days - the building is only open for people to access the Post Office.

Macmillan Cancer support and Blaenau Gwent libraries have developed a service to help people affected by cancer access the information they need closer to home.

Based in local libraries, we offer good quality, free information in a friendly setting in a style that suits everyone's needs.

    How can we help…

Anyone worried or affected by cancer can use this free service.  This includes patients, families, friends and carers.

    We provide:
    • a range of leaflets and booklets covering many aspects of cancer and treatment
    • information and signposting for benefits and financial advice
    • information about local organisations and support groups
    • information in other languages and formats
    • one-to-one support and someone to talk too

    How to contact us…

We run regular drop in sessions in each library or private appointments can by made.

We can come to your nearest library and help support through difficult times.
