Community Kit Room First Year Anniversary

On Monday 15th of March 2024, the Trust celebrated the 1st year anniversary of the Community Kit Room (CKR) at Abertillery Sports Centre.

Since the launch in February 2023, the CKR has supported 140 people of both adults and children, with 331 items of sportswear and accessories being out-sourced to members of the community in its first year. The initiative has enabled many young children to join local sports clubs and have also supported adults to begin or maintain their health, fitness or sport journey.

Support from community members, sports clubs, and our partners of Mountain Fuel, Tai Calon and StreetGames Wales, have all contributed to the success of the initiative, and were all present in celebrating the great achievements at the celebration event.

We’re looking forward to the next steps of the CKR, aiming to make the initiative more accessible and sustainable for the future.
