International Day of Sport for Development and Peace

The International Day of Sport for Development and Peace (IDSDP) is celebrated annually on April 6th recognising the importance of how sport powers social change and community development, whilst promoting peace and understanding in our communities and across the globe.

The day provides an opportunity to showcase how sport contributes to a healthier, inclusive, peaceful and sustainable society all year round.

Today, we highlight and celebrate our Sport Development Team who endeavour to create positive change in our local communities, supporting schools, sports clubs and families across all areas of Blaenau Gwent.

The team partners with local, regional and national partners to create and develop high quality sport and physical activity programmes, projects, and interventions, particularly for children, young people and their families to improve physical and mental health.
