Easter Fun with Aneurin Leisure

Join us for some egg-citing Easter fun for children of all ages at our Aneurin Leisure venues across Blaenau Gwent!

Libraries

Jump into a book and make those words wiggle off the page this Easter at our libraries!  Join us for some fun and active Wiggly Words storytelling sessions for children aged 3-9 years with our Sport Development team:

  • Tuesday 2nd April - Tredegar Library & Ebbw Vale Library

  • Thursday 4th April - Brynmawr Library, Abertillery Library & Cwm Library

Wiggly Words sessions are FREE but booking is essential - call your local library to book your place.

All our libraries will also have some FREE Easter egg hunts and colouring activities to keep you entertained while you visit and of course, we always have lots of fantastic books, graphic novels and audiobooks to choose from for your holiday reading!

Bedwellty House and Park

Grab your imaginations and get ready for some storytelling fun this Easter with Louby Lou’s storytelling team and their next adventure - The Return of the Chocolate Detectives on Tuesday 26th March at 11am & 1.30pm.  Book online here.

For children aged 7-12 we also have all the fun of the circus, with an exciting Circus Skills workshop on Wednesday 3rd April (11am & 1.30pm).  Book online here.

Blaenau Gwent Council Regeneration Projects Team, Aneurin Leisure Trust and Bethel Baptist Church are also working in partnership to provide a FREE Easter Egg Hunt around Bedwellty Park on Saturday 30th March from 10.30am - 12pm. Tredegar Town Council will also be providing FREE access for poeple to climb the inside of the town clock (between 10.30am - 12pm) and there will be Easter bunny mascots and a town trail.

 

Sports Centres

Playschemes will be back for the Easter holiday holidays with a range of multi-sport activities and optional swim sessions.  The activities are fully funded and a packed lunch is provided for every child.

  • Abertillery Sports Centre - Thursdays 28th March & 4th April

  • Ebbw Vale Sports Centre - Wednesdays 27th March & 3rd April

  • Tredegar Sports Centre - Monday 25th March

Tredegar Sports Centre also has a Football Camp on Tuesday 2nd April (£5.65 per child) and two FREE events on Saturday 6th April to celebrate the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace; Sports Development Extravaganza for ages 8-12 and an Under 8s Spring Fun Day (fully booked).

Parc Bryn Bach

There’s lots of family fun to be had at Parc Bryn Bach!  In addition to the FREE walking and sculpture trails and children’s play area, there’s also mini golf and Go Kart hire to keep you entertained on your visit.  For the school holidays visitors will also be able to hire mountain bikes and paddlesport crafts such as sit-on-top kayaks and SUP.

Throughout the Easter holidays there will also be an exciting programme of adventure activities including Activity Days, Paddlesports Taster Sessions, Archery Tag, Tiki SUP, Intro to Stand Up Paddleboarding, Mountain Bike Taster Sessions and Hill Walking Days.
