Environmental Volunteer Days

Would you like to get involved with some of our environmental work around the Parc Bryn Bach?

The Blaenau Gwent Green Team have arranged a series of volunteer days at the park that will enable members of the community to get involved with their planned biodiversity works which are designed to improve the various natural habitats around the park.

As a volunteer you will be helping with a range of important environmental works and also learning some new skills.

Here’s a breakdown of the various volunteer days:

  • Monday 24th January from 9.30am - 1pm: Woodland Works and bird ID ready for the Big Garden Bird count.

  • Monday 31st January from 9.30am - 1pm: Woodland Works

  • Monday 7th and Tuesday 8th February from 9.30am – 1pm: Willow Coppicing around the lake edge

  • Tuesday 22nd February from 9.30am - 2pm: details to be confirmed

  • Tuesday 1st March from 9.30am - 2pm: Creating Willow Arches for the Sensory Garden

Please meet inside the Visitor Centre near reception.

All tools will be provided but please bring your own pair of work/gardening gloves.

These activities will be carried out in all weathers, so please wear appropriate clothing such as warm and waterproof clothing, sturdy boots or footwear/wellies etc.  We also recommend that you bring some refreshments and snacks with you.

We will be following Covid safety procedures to ensure you stay safe such as social distancing, hand sanitizing, cleaning of tools and wearing of masks when we have to work in close proximity due to health and safety reasons.

If you'd like to join any of these sessions, please email: Nadine.Morgan@blaenau-gwent.gov.uk or Kay.Eversfield@blaenau-gwent.gov.uk
