Festive Food Bank Appeal

This year our Sports Development team alongside our Community Engagement Officer partnered with local sports clubs around Blaenau Gwent for the third year to organise a mass festive food bank appeal.

Players, committee members and supporters from the following clubs got involved and dedicated additional time to facilitate community drop-offs and store all the food at their own venues until they could be collected.

• Abertillery Excelsiors FC

• Abertillery Bluebirds FC

• Blaina Community Sports Club

• Llanhilleth FC

• Nantyglo FC

• RTB’s FC

• Tredegar Town FC

Each club donated an overwhelmingly generous amount of food and hygiene products to the appeal for local food banks and groups to support families this Christmas.

Aneurin Leisure would like to thank all those who donated, along with David Spear Commercial Vehicles, who kindly provided free transport in order to help our Sports Development team to collect the donations from each club and then deliver them to a variety of different food banks and community houses across Blaenau Gwent.

All donations have now been distributed evenly to local food banks and community groups, helping to support many local people across the festive period.
