New for 2023 at Parc Bryn Bach: Paddlesports

This Easter we are expanding our self-launch facility at Parc Bryn Bach to include other paddlesport vessels in addition to stand up paddleboards. This means that people will be able to bring their own kayaks and canoes to use on the lake during designated times throughout the summer.

All participants must have their own insurance (specific to water based activities from governing bodies such as WSA, Canoe Wales and British Canoeing) and must purchase a Day Ticket in order to access the lake.

Self-launch will available between 1st April - 30th September during the following times:

Monday 9.30am – 4pm | Tuesday to Friday 9.30am – 7pm | Saturday & Sunday 8.30am – 5pm

 All self-launch participants: -

  • Must have their own insurance

  • Must have all their own equipment

  • Must wear a buoyancy aid and suitable shoes

  • Must be aged 16+

Vessels permitted for self launch are Canoes, Kayaks, Sit on top kayaks or SUP

Self-launch participants are able to access the whole lake during their session, they will not be limited to the designated red buoy area as this is for people who are hiring paddlesport vessels only.

Paddlesport Membership will also be available for the season (April - September) for people to access the lake as often as they like during the self-launch sessions. The membership costs £120 per person and must be applied for at reception in the Visitor Centre.

All Paddlesport Membership applicants must be aged 16+, own all their own equipment and must have relevant insurance.

Paddlesport Hire will also be available every weekend from 11am - 5pm from 1st April to 30th September. Visitors can hire a canoe, sit-on-top kayak or SUP to use on the lake within a designated area marked by red buoys.

Hire sessions will be 45 minutes and the prices are:
£8 per Sit-on-top Kayak (1 person) | £15 per SUP board (1 person) | £20 per Canoe (max 2 adults and 1 young person)
